High Line Canal Management Plan - Aurora, Colorado

Architerra, along with Applied Design Services and ICON Engineering, was selected to prepare the High Line Canal Management Plan for the City of Aurora. We will be assisting with the development of a Management Plan for the High Line Canal including the 12.4  miles of the Canal as it runs through the City of Aurora from Havana St. on the west to 38th Ave. on the north and the approximately 4.2 miles of the Canal running through unincorporated Arapahoe County located in four segments from I-25 on the west to Mississippi Ave. on the north.

 

Confluence Park Ramps - Denver, Colorado

Architerra is pleased to announce that we will be starting a new project that will improve the ramp system to the west of the confluence of the South Platte River and Cherry Creek.

Westminster Center Park - Westminster, Colorado

Friday, May 21 will the be the official park opening. Please come out and help us celebrate with live music and fun! This park will include an amphitheater, custom shelters, a plaza with interactive water features, a playground with custom designed play equipment, large open bluegrass meadows, walking trails, a restroom, and custom art features including lighting around the shelters and an obelisk at the center of the plaza.

Civic Center Park - Denver, Colorado

Plans for all areas of this project will be complete by the end of the month. Construction progresses on the Balustrade Central Stairway, Voorhies Memorial, and Greek Theater.

 

Centennial Regional Link Trail - Centennial, Colorado

Architerra has begun design development work on the first phase of this important regional trail. This phase of the project will provide a connection between University Boulevard and Orchard Road. The project includes both hard surface and soft surface trails, rest areas, and street intersection improvements.

 

High Line Canal Trail Underpass at Iliff Avenue - Denver, Colorado

The Architerra Group, along with Wilson and Company, has been selected to design an important trail underpass in Arapahoe County. When complete, this project will provide a safe underpass for the High Line Canal Trail to replace the existing at-grade crossing of Iliff Avenue.

 

High Line Canal Trail at Iliff Avenue - Denver, Colorado

Construction was completed on this section of the High Line Canal Trail from Iliff Avenue to the Cherry Creek Trail (approximately .75 miles). The project includes a new pedestrian bridge over the High Line Canal, retaining wall, an asphalt trail, ADA accessibility, and safety and maintenance improvements along the trail.

Macanta Regional Park - Douglas County, Colorado

A conceptual plan for this trailhead and trail was approved at the County Parks Board meeting this month. Architerra will now move into preparing construction documents for this plan that includes a parking lot with spaces to accommodate horse trailers, custom shelters, decorative pavement, a playground, and a sheltered overlook.

 

Parkfield Park - Denver, Colorado

Construction progresses on this important project. The concrete work is almost complete and the installation of the shelters is scheduled to happen next. A successful turnout of volunteers for the Arbor Day planting resulted in the planting of most of the trees. Construction is scheduled to be complete by the middle of June.

Red-tailed Hawk Park, Phase 2 - Aurora, Colorado

Construction is continuing at this large park off of E-470. The City has added a skate park and an additional parking to the planned plaza that includes bocce ball courts, horseshoe courts, a sand volleyball court, a sprayground, and shelters.

Wonderland Creek - Boulder County, Colorado

The Architerra Group is teaming with Ayres Associates for this important drainage improvement and regional trail project in Boulder. After a successful and well attended public meeting earlier this year, progress is being made on the City of Boulder's Community and Environmental Assessment Process for the project. Ultimately, the project will provide a critical link in the Wonderland Creek Trail and will remove several residential properties from the 100 year flood plain.

 

Village Greens North - Greenwood Village, Colorado

We have been developing the master plan for this exciting park in Greenwood Village. Planned improvements include an expanded pond, a mountain bike skills trail, a disc golf course, a non-traditional play environment, and a new maintenance/storage facility. A public meeting will be held in June to review the master plan.

 

Arapahoe County, Colorado

The Architerra Group was selected to prepare open space design guidelines for Arapahoe County.

Lisa Thulin joins The Architerra Group! 

Lisa has joined us as our new office manager. She will be an integral part of our day to day operations.

 

Civic Center Park - Denver, Colorado

Construction will begin on the Balustrade Central Stairway at the end of this month. Architerra will continue on the construction documents for the Voorhies Memorial and Greek Theater areas.

Village Greens North - Greenwood Village, Colorado

The public meeting for this project was held this month and resulted in an approved conceptual design. Architerra will continue to develop the master plan for this exciting park.

 

High Line Canal at Iliff - Denver, Colorado

T2 Construction is installing the bridge abutments and retaining walls. Planned completion for this project is the end of March.

 

Westminster Center Park - Westminster, Colorado

Construction continues to progress. Anticipated completion is the end of May.

Repairs at Johnston Reservoir in Clement Park - Littleton, Colorado

Construction is just about complete for the repairs we designed around Johnston Reservoir. Our plans included over 200 linear feet of riprap stabilization along the bank that includes new wetland plantings. Also included in this project were repairs around each of the fishing piers that repaired the concrete approach, stabilized the bank immediately next to the pier, and wetland planting. Due to the cold winter, the planting will be completed in the spring.

 

On the boards - several locations

We are starting work on several projects. Preliminary plans for the Westside Line Trail have been approved and we are starting construction documents. This crusher fines trail will run between 15th St. and 19th St., parallel to the South Platte River.

Preliminary construction documents are in the works for Civic Center Park in Denver. Our role in this project is renovating a plaza area between the Greek Theater to Voorhies Memorial.

Construction documents are in production for the East Caley/Little Dry Creek Trail for South Suburban Parks and Recreation District and the City of Centennial.

Ten Years!

The Architerra Group just celebrated our tenth anniversary. We would like to extend special thanks to our many clients, colleagues, friends and family that helped make this milestone possible! Our success is a direct result of working with great people.

 

Progress at Parkfield Lake Community Park, Phase 2 - Denver, Colorado

Overlot grading has been completed and concrete pouring has begun! Progress on this park will continue through winter and is anticipated to be complete by next summer. This phase of the park includes concrete trails, a parking lot, two shelters, picnic areas with grills, many additional trees, large bluegrass meadows and carefully sculpted berms with native seeding.

 

Red-Tailed Hawk Park, Phase 2 - Aurora, Colorado

The bid opening for Red-Tailed Hawk park took place November 19, 2009. Construction is scheduled to begin in January, 2010.

40th Street Outfall - Denver, Colorado

The WHPacific/Architerra Group team was selected for the 40th Street Outfall project. This stormwater project includes preparing conceptual design alternatives, public process, and preliminary design of a large storm sewer that is part of the FasTracks project.

 

High Line Canal Trail, Iliff to Cherry Creek Trail - Denver, Colorado

Construction for this project is scheduled to begin in December. This project includes new concrete trail, asphalt trail with a crusher fines shoulder, and a new pedestrian bridge.

Village Greens North Master Plan- Greenwood Village, Colorado

Downtown Children's Playground - Denver, Colorado

This playground, located at Speer and Wewatta was listed in the Denver Post in an article about 11 great Front Range playgrounds. Construction on this playground was complete in July, 2007.
