Heem grew up in South Korea, lived in Tokyo, and moved to the to the United States to study architecture and landscape architecture. He joined Architerra upon finishing his master’s degree in landscape architecture in 2022 from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. A growing affinity for the arid and semi-arid parts of the United States lured him to Colorado for his next adventure.
Heem has a deep appreciation for plants and the natural environment. He loves moving to a new region and researching native plants to better understand the ecosystem of new climates. Additionally, his background in architecture and landscape architecture helps him apply design principles to create more inclusive spaces for people with disabilities.
Outside of work Heem enjoys playing golf, indoor climbing, visiting local coffee shops and breweries, and touring parks and plant nurseries.
